💐 A Love Letter to MomEntrepreneurs: You Are the Backbone of Everything

I want to start by saying this:
Women, especially mothers, are the backbone of the planet.

And far too often, they don’t get the credit they deserve.

I see it every day. In my own life, in my client calls, in late-night texts from friends, in the moms at school pick-up trying to take a business call while buckling a toddler into a car seat. The mamas are the ones making it happen, holding it down, and often doing it with a smile… even when they’re exhausted.

My First Role Model

My mom wasn’t an entrepreneur or business owner, but she worked so hard to keep things running for our family. She had an incredible work ethic—often working multiple jobs to keep the lights on and food on the table. (Hamburger Helper, pasta-roni, and rice-a-roni were on heavy rotation in our house—anyone else??)

Looking back, I didn’t always recognize the invisible labor that went into our lives. But now, as a mother myself, I see it clearly. The mental load. The behind-the-scenes planning. The constant calculations: “Do I have enough energy for this?” “Will that bill go through before the check clears?” “Did I RSVP to the field trip and send the Venmo?”

Motherhood Isn’t One-Size-Fits-All

One thing I’ve learned over the years is that motherhood comes in many forms. I’ve worked with women who are bio moms, stepmoms, adoptive moms, auntie-moms, and chosen family moms. I've seen stay-at-home moms, working moms, homeschooling moms, and moms building six-figure empires between naps and soccer practice.

No matter what the setup looks like, one thing is always true:
There’s a mama behind the scenes pulling it all together.

And if no one has told you lately: you are doing an incredible job.

Business + Babies: The Guilt and the Growth

When I first became a mom, I carried a lot of guilt.
Guilt for working.
Guilt for not working.
Guilt for missing a moment.
Guilt for needing a break.

It took time, but I’ve come to realize something important—our kids don’t need us to be perfect.
They need to see us being intentional.
They need to see us making space for ourselves and for them.
They need to see us living in alignment, even if that means the laundry doesn’t get folded right away.

I’ve found one of the simplest, most powerful things I can do is to set my phone down when I come home and give my son a couple of truly intentional hours of connection. That reconnection matters more than being “on” 24/7.

And yes—motherhood is still overwhelming. I still struggle with the “stay up late for me-time” vs. “just go to bed and get the sleep” dilemma. (Every. Single. Night.)

But that’s part of it. And we keep showing up anyway.

✨ To All the Moms in My World...

To my clients, my colleagues, my team, and the women I learn from daily:
You are the magic.
You are the ones holding communities together.
You are quietly shaping the world—through your businesses, your creativity, your caregiving, and your courage.

So this post is for you.
A reminder that you are seen.
A moment to pause and say thank you.
And a gentle nudge to take care of you, too.

💡Quick Reflection Prompt (Because I Know You're Busy)

Take 60 seconds today and answer this:
What’s one thing you’re proud of in how you show up as a mother, a caregiver, or a nurturer?

Write it down. Text it to a friend. Say it out loud. You deserve to feel that pride.
